
Case Study: TESLA New Logo Rebranding
Tesla Inc., is undoubtably, a world-renowned brand that changed the course of the car industry. As enthusiasts and marcom professionals, we have been watching closely TESLA’s successful course since its inception. (We published several articles in the “Roadster” Magazine in the past, and more recently).

When originally introduced, the TESLA logo with its futuristic fonts used, seemed impressive and reflected the company’s vision at the time. But the company grew exponentially since, and two decades later, these fonts seem outdated, common and dare to say, boring. We think its about time TESLA redesigned its company logo, to a new, coherent, fresh, trendy, prestigious, distinct and classy design, one capable of reflecting the company’s magnitude and evolution today…
We worked on that thought and created this new emblem, as an opportunity for TESLA’s 20th birthday next year.


Logo design details:
• T Shape: Facelifted, simplified, flattened, trendy. Slightly rounded on the edges, bolder, more distinct.
• Badge: Introduction of a coat of arms that elevates the logo to a more prestigious look and feel level. The top curve of T, is now merged and subtracted from the top curve of the badge, creating the same effect of a second curved line, that is now bordered by the letters positioned on top of the badge.
• Fonts: An exclusively designed typeface for TESLA, one that is unique, distinct, futuristic, and classic. A typeface that matches the T design, and completes the logo.
